Harrison Bender
Harrison Bender ('06) graduated from New College of Florida in 2010 with a concentration in Sociology and Film. He's worked in independent film for the last ten years and has the scars to prove it. He currently lives in Orlando, and was not proud of his thesis (don't read it).

Colin Boyle (Treasurer)
Colin Boyle Lives in Manatee County, Florida and has a history degree from New College of Florida. He is currently the Chief Information Officer for Step Up Suncoast, a Community Action Agency. In the past he has been the IT Director for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida and for the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. He's also worked for VARs, MSPs, SaaS shops and as a Navy Engineman. He has served on the board of the New College Alumni Association and the Sarasota Civic League. He is a 2020 NTENny Award winner for his work in the nonprofit tech sector.

Ben Brown
Ben Brown is a graduate of New College (2005–2009) and the University of Michigan Law School (2009–2012). His legal career in the New York City suburbs began in a nonprofit organization providing general, civil legal services, and then transitioned into a private practice representing k-12 and college students in special education, general education law, and civil rights matters. Ben is also a close student of land use and development policy in his current home of White Plains, New York, with an emphasis on achieving fiscal equity, environmental quality, and affordable housing. Ben enjoys hiking, and lifelong learning in history and political science.

Dr. Mike Campbell
Mike Campbell is senior lecturer in behavioural science/clinical psychology and deputy dean (research & graduate studies) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at The University of the West Indies—Cave Hill, Barbados.
He teaches in the psychiatry and family practice residency programmes at the UWI and publishes widely in the areas of psychological measurement, global mental health, and bioethics. In his international practice, Mike provides consultation and direct service in hospital, military, and disaster settings.
Mike was recognised with the Citizen Psychologist Presidential Citation by the American Psychological Association in 2018 and the Cave Hill Principal’s Award for Excellence in University and Public Service in 2021. He is past president of the Barbados Society of Psychology, a fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a fellow of the British Psychological Society.

Brian Cody (Secretary)
Brian Cody is originally from Live Oak, Florida and attended New College from 2002 to 2006. Brian pursued doctoral work in sociology at the University of Chicago, then pivoted to becoming the co-founder and CEO of Scholastica, a provider of academic journal publishing software. Brian has served on the board of multiple nonprofits, including the New College Foundation and Catapult Chicago, and has experience with nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, budgeting, board composition strategy, and governance best practices. He is a self-taught Ruby on Rails programmer, and father of two young children.

Laura Hampton
Laura Hampton is a New College alumni who graduated in 2009 with a concentration in Literature. She earened her Master's of Library and Information Sciences and Graduate Certificate in Book Arts from the University of Iowa, and worked as both an academic and public librarian until 2022 when she transitioned to academic publishing. Laura is deeply invested in the local community, and seeks to support the unique and beautiful elements of Sarasota come what may. Laura enjoys making books, reading, dancing, cats and karaoke (in no particular order).

Cindy Hill
Cindy Hill attended New College from 1989 through 1993, majoring in Medieval Renaissance Studies. She then received a Masters of Arts in English Literature from Florida State University, and a Masters of Studies of Research Methods in English from Oxford University. After that, she attended the Florida State University College of law, where she was an editor for both Law Review and the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. She practices community association law in Sarasota at the law firm of Tannenbaum Lemole and Hill. She has twice served as Chair of the New College Alumnae/i Association.

Katrina Marerro
Katrina Carlin Marrero graduated from New College (2015-2019) with a degree in natural sciences, and a thesis focusing on the interplay between analytical chemistry and regulatory actions regarding tampons and consumer products. She entered the Stetson Law part-time JD program in 2022, and after having her son in 2023, transferred into the full-time program; she is expected to graduate in December and take the February 2026 Florida bar examination. Katrina is a member of the Environmental Law Concentration, the External Vice President for the Stetson Journal of Advocacy and the Law, and a law clerk for the on-campus Jacobs Public Interest Clinic for Democracy and the Environment. Prior to matriculating at Stetson, Katrina worked as a hostess, server, and paralegal in Sarasota, and still provides legal support on a part-time basis. She is also an ambassador for Keep Pinellas Beautiful. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Juliana Paré-Blagoev
Juliana Paré-Blagoev is trained in developmental psychology and educational neuroscience. Current research efforts include understanding and addressing the unique educational needs of pediatric survivors of childhood cancer. Her earlier work included lab-based research that used a combination of brain and behavioral methods to explore skill and language learning. Later collaborative and classroom-based research created and tested STEM classroom tools that were grounded in cognitive science and informed by practitioner’s expertise. As a founding member of the International Mind, Brain, and Education Society, she has worked to improve the bidirectional integration of knowledge from research and educational practice. She currently is associate editor for the society’s journal, Mind Brain and Education.

William Rosenberg (President)
During Bill’s tenure as a member of the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee, and as a member of the New College Alumni Association, he has had extensive fundraising and managerial expertise. Bill served on the Budget Committee of the SDEC where he was a key team member in the creation of a multi-million dollar budget for the Texas Democratic Party. As Chairman of the Board of the New College Alumni Association, Bill was the Association fiduciary. He also developed and implemented a major fundraising campaign for the creation of an endowed scholarship to benefit New College students.

Mike Sand
Mike Sanderson attended New College from 1999 to 2004 after graduating from Miami Palmetto High School. They were the editor of the New College student newspaper, The Catalyst, when the independent New College of Florida was created in 2001. An anthropology/history major, Sanderson lived in Guangdong Province of China from 2006 to 2012 and currently lives in Brooklyn. Sanderson is a 6th-generation Floridian, having great-great-great grandparents in Florida in 1850. Since 2013, Sanderson has been a computer programmer and security researcher.
