Board Members

  • Colin Boyle Lives in Manatee County, Florida and has a history degree from New College of Florida. He is currently the Chief Information Officer for Step Up Suncoast, a Community Action Agency. In the past he has been the IT Director for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida and for the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. He's also worked for VARs, MSPs, SaaS shops and as a Navy Engineman. He has served on the board of the New College Alumni Association and the Sarasota Civic League. He is a 2020 NTENny Award winner for his work in the nonprofit tech sector.

  • Mike Campbell is senior lecturer in behavioural science/clinical psychology and deputy dean (research & graduate studies) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at The University of the West Indies—Cave Hill, Barbados.

    He is a Barbados-registered psychologist, licensed in the US, and chartered in the UK. He teaches in the psychiatry and family practice residency programmes at the UWI and publishes widely in the areas of psychological measurement, global mental health, and bioethics: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5927-2612. He chairs the Research Ethics Committee jointly serving the University of the West Indies—Cave Hill Campus and the Barbados Ministry of Health and Wellness and is vice-chair of the Caribbean Public Health Agency Research Ethics Committee. In his practice, he is a founding member of the Disaster Mental Health Committee of the Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations and provides clinical support for the Barbados Defence Force.

    Dr. Campbell was recognised with the Citizen Psychologist Presidential Citation by the American Psychological Association in 2018 and the Cave Hill Principal’s Award for Excellence in University and Public Service in 2021. He is past president of the Barbados Society of Psychology, a fellow of the American Psychological Association, and an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society.

  • Frazier Carraway graduated from New College in 1976. He joined the Army and was in due coarse commissioned as a Second Lieutenant branched Armor. After 3 1/2 years of active duty, he went to work for US Home Corp as a construction superintendent. He left US Home and entered Stetson University College of Law where he served as Editor in Chief of the Law Review. He graduated and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1988. Since graduation he has been in private practice in Tampa. He is a past Chair of The New College Alumni Association.

  • Brian Cody is originally from Live Oak, Florida and attended New College from 2002 to 2006. Brian pursued doctoral work in sociology at the University of Chicago, then pivoted to becoming the co-founder and CEO of Scholastica, a provider of academic journal publishing software. Brian has served on the board of multiple nonprofits, including the New College Foundation and Catapult Chicago, and has experience with nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, budgeting, board composition strategy, and governance best practices. He is a self-taught Ruby on Rails programmer, and father of two young children.

  • Cindy Hill attended New College from 1989 through 1993, majoring in Medieval Renaissance Studies. She then received a Masters of Arts in English Literature from Florida State University, and a Masters of Studies of Research Methods in English from Oxford University. After that, she attended the Florida State University College of law, where she was an editor for both Law Review and the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. She practices community association law in Sarasota at the law firm of Tannenbaum Lemole and Hill. She has twice served as Chair of the New College Alumnae/i Association.

  • Steve Jacobson graduated from New College in 1975, with a degree in General Studies. He began a career making things as a machinist, scientific instrument maker, shop manager, teacher of design and prototyping at Northwestern University, and, finally, as a cryogenics engineer, before retiring in January, 2023. He served on the New College Alumnae/i Association Board for 16 years, serving as Chair for his last year. He lives in Evanston, IL.

  • During Bill’s tenure as a member of the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee, and as a member of the New College Alumni Association, he has had extensive fundraising and managerial expertise. Bill served on the Budget Committee of the SDEC where he was a key team member in the creation of a multi-million dollar budget for the Texas Democratic Party. As Chairman of the Board of the New College Alumni Association, Bill was the Association fiduciary. He also developed and implemented a major fundraising campaign for the creation of an endowed scholarship to benefit New College students.
